How To Choose The Perfect Christmas Gifts For A Stoner?

We are certainly living through some very unprecedented times, but not all of them are bad. In fact, some of the biggest changes in attitude we have seen so far have to do with the legalization and social acceptance of one of the best plants in all of creation: weed. With more and more places starting to realize the benefits of the humble cannabis plant, and the casual consumption of weed-derived products like edibles, oils, and even pills, this might be the first holiday season for many where weed is a realistic gift option for the dearest people in your life.

However, this acceptance of cannabis culture is still so new, that you may not even know where to start. Is it weird to give away cannabis stuff? Even a small thing, like an infusion, or even an accessory? You might have tons of questions, and we have tons of answers, so fear nothing, dear reader. As the jolliest season of the year, we want you and everyone around you to enjoy it as much as you possibly can, so we put together a small guide to find the perfect Christmas gift for a stoner. Read all the pros, the cons, the things you should do, and everything you need to avoid at all costs to ensure your present is absolutely perfect. Spread the joy around this Christmas like never before!

1) Make sure your gift is actually legal

As we said, plenty of administrations have already begun to decriminalize, if not outright legalize, the sale and consumption of marijuana, and while this is a great development, it is still far from being the norm.

So if you are thinking of giving a little gift of cannabis to someone you appreciate a lot, check if the country and state you are currently living in could have a problem with it. We know that in a private exchange this shouldn’t represent a problem, but it’s a courtesy you need to keep in mind to ease any concern about your gift.

2) Is the correct time and place to give out your gift?

We know that seeing your coworker open a box full of rolling paper in front of their boss sounds funny as hell, but it's also wrong. Legendary, yes, but still wrong. Also, nobody wants to explain what a bong is to their grandma, or tell a bunch of kids that they cannot try the funny-looking cookies that Uncle Joey brought to the family Christmas party. What we are saying is that gifting weed and weed-related presents still need a discreet touch, a degree of closeness to not make it weird, and even some plausible deniability if the gift can get someone in trouble. Better safe than sorry!

3) Start with something low and easy

Speaking of edibles, if a box of them has the chance to be a well-received gift, you still want to consider the proper doses and strength for someone that might be new to this hobby.

Small snacks with a low THC content, or purely CBD based effects are a great way to test the waters when it comes to cannabis gifts, and it will give you a better idea of the likes and dislikes of a person when it comes to planning the presents of next year. Things like seeds, flowers or strains are only recommended if you are pretty confident in your knowledge of the taste and habits of the person you are giving the gift to, and when it comes to plain cannabis, it should be for a person you can trust and be close to. The weed experience level always counts!

4) Accessories are always great!

If giving away cannabis by itself seems like a no-no for you, but you still want to give something related to a person curious about this hobby, then gifting a good-quality accessory is the perfect answer. For example, the KØL mini 2.0 pipe from HØJ not only offers an easy smoking experience that doesn’t require any water (great for any newbie to weed culture), but it’s also stylish, easy to care for, and will last for a long while. The KLIP, on the other hand, is an amazing grinder that not only guarantees perfectly sliced cannabis for any purpose (rolling joints, making edibles, preparing some kush, etc.), but it’s easy to use and looks stylish on any counter. And the HAMP rolling paper is designed to create the best joints, but it’s beginner friendly and you can even find one of our Golden Tickets inside if you are lucky. Believe us, with the proper weed accessory, you cannot go wrong this gif-giving season.

5) Honesty matters a lot

However, whatever you decide to give, the most important thing you should do is be completely honest with the intended recipient of the present. If you are giving edibles, for example, be clear with the dosage and potency of the cannabis, the effects they should expect, if it is a THC or CBD based edible, the difference between dose, and the proper care they need to have during and after consumption. If you are giving an accessory, explain well what it is, how to use it, how to clean it, and everything they should know about it. And if you are downright gifting some weed, the strain, how to store it, and what kinds of things they can do with it (smoke it or use it as an ingredient, among other things). It might even be enough to point them in the direction of a trusted source (like our very own blog!), and remain available for any further questions if the person might need it. Remember, there’s no better way to enjoy a good bowl of weed than doing it consciously and in a safe environment!

Merry Christmas!

With all that in mind, you can make this the best holiday season somebody ever had. Maybe someday giving weed as a gift can be as normal as showing up with a casserole or a box of cigars, but today you can take some little actions to make sure your gift will be received as it deserves.

So, for now, check out our store, start planning your gifts, and share an awesome holiday season with us! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and have a great New Year.

Until next time!
