As someone who has lived in Seattle for a couple of years now, I like to refer to Portland as Seattle 2.0. Don’t get me wrong, I love my beautiful Seattle (and of course its huge amount of premium dispensaries), but I feel like Portland delivers all of this – the cool Twilighty fall season, the beautiful perfect summer, amazing coffee, bike friendly roads, perfect kayaking spots, and more – in a simply better way. It might be that the people seem nicer, or of course the fantastic fact that there are no general sales taxes in Oregon, but I feel like Portland is Seattle’s younger and cooler sister. So, with that in mind, if you are lucky enough to find yourself in Portland and in the lookout for some weed, here are the top dispensaries in the area. 



Happy Leaf Portland

This is, in my opinion, the epitome of Portland youth. Its architectural goal is to give the vibe of a techy, artsy, coffee shop with cannabis. Its main goal is to provide high quality products at a decent cost in an inviting environment, and they do! They have daily offers, happy hour, and even seniors, students and military discounts!



Serra Dispensary

  • Locations: Downtown, Belmont
  • Hours: It depends on the location

This is, hands down, the most beautiful dispensary I have ever been to. You enter the place and leave your problems behind – it feels like a futuristic spa. They have very personalized attention, which most of the time I hate, but in this place I simply love it. Serra provides a “feelings card”, so you choose among their options – relaxed, focused, creative, happy, energetic, or relief – and their staff will help you find the ideal product for you to feel what you want to feel. They display their products under glass in such a beautiful way that each item looks like a museum piece. They pride themselves on providing quality drugs, and that of course comes with a price, but you get what you pay for (in a good way). 


Electric Lettuce

These guys are hard to miss – they’re everywhere in Portland. They’re big fans of Timothy Leary, one of the most popular American advocators of psychedelic drugs, having a large variety of products among all of their locations, including edibles, concentrates, tropicals, as well as accessories.

This beautiful dispensary founded in 2014 originally launched, as the law allowed back then, as a medical dispensary, allowing patients only. They were very well established as a cannabis home for knowledge and cannabis medication. However, in 2016, as the recreational use of marihuana was approved in the state of Oregon, they opened their doors to everyone 21 and older, to share their love and knowledge for cannabis for a fair price.
