The Best Homemade Snacks For Weed Munchies

Estimated 5-minute read

Oh boy, we know. 4/20 was the best, and you saved your best blends, your finest joints, and your more gourmet edibles to celebrate this month as you should. You even bought a brand new grinder from your favorite store to prepare your weed properly in anticipation for the best 30 days of the year. And it was awesome, so much in fact that now you are riddled with the munchies, and (oh no!) you forgot to prepare for that situation.

Now it is too late to order anything (and you don’t want to wait too long anyway), and you walk to your pantry to see what you can snack on. We’ve all been there no judgment. In fact, knowing that at least a couple of you will be in this situation very soon, we prepared a couple of good old snack recipes you can prepare with pretty much everything you have in your kitchen. These will satiate your munchies, guaranteed, so get cozy, and on your next trip to the grocery store, don’t forget to bring enough to make.

Easy snacks recipes options

Option A: Spicy Ramen Breakfast Grilled Cheese

Courtesy of the food blog The Takeout, this recipe is part of the proud line of “improvised fatty foods meant to quench the munchies late at night.” The best category of food, really, and one that’s scientifically sound to boot, as fatty foods are great for controlling the effects of CBD on your body. So if you crave a greasy & easy meal after a bowl or two, this is why.

Okay, back to our recipe; this dish is basically a variation of the Indian omelet sandwich that got popular on TikTok not long ago, just incorporating some of those instant ramen packets that you probably still have at the back of your pantry. Preparing it is easy:

What you have:

  • 1 package of your favorite instant ramen noodles.
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped scallion greens (optional)
  • 2 slices of American (or yellow) “cheese.”
  • Something spicy to give it character (we recommend some chili or sriracha)

What you need to do:

First of all, prepare the ramen. Soak it in hot water for about a minute and a half, just enough so the thing is soft but it still maintains its shape. This will be the “bread” of your grilled cheese. Now, preheat a skillet on medium-high heat, and mix the eggs, milk, scallions, and the seasoning packet of your ramen noodles with zest and vigor while you wait. Once that is done, put some oil on your skillet (whatever you choose, we recommend sesame oil) and pour your egg mix on it. Now, take your ramen noodles and bathe them in the mixture on both sides, so everything gets eggy and delicious.

Once you have them soaked well, let them cook for a couple of minutes, put the cheese slices over each half of the ramen, and then flip them over until the cheese melts to your content. When the cheese is ready, flip them again, and with the help of a spatula, fold one half of the sandwich over the other, and then you are done. Add your favorite spicy sauce to it, and now banish the munchies to the greasy realm, at least until your next joint comes in. Easy, right?

Option B: Trash Can Nachos

Oscar from Sesame Street is awesome, and he even looks like a lump of hash, so obviously, any recipe he would like to eat must be a slam dunk when the munchies come and refuse to go away. This is where the wonderful garbage nachos come into scene: a mix of everything good about nachos, using whatever ingredients you can find in your fridge.

This quick and easy recipe also scales well if you have guests; nobody will be left indifferent to a mountain of cheese, greasy, easy nachos in the middle of the table, and your munchies will not stand a chance against it. Ready to dive in?

What you have:

  • Yellow corn tortilla chips
  • Two kinds of shredded cheese: mild cheddar and mozzarella
  • Leftover taco meat
  • Leftover cooked bacon
  • Your favorite bottled salsa
  • Romaine lettuce to give it a fresh feeling
  • Copious amounts of sour cream

What you need to do:

This recipe is easy to prepare when you are high as a kite, and you only need your basic microwave to make it work. Basically, just layer the corn tortilla chips, the shredded cheese, taco meat, and leftover bacon one over another. Put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes until the cheese has melted.

Once it is ready, slatter the nachos with all the cream you want, the chopped lettuce, and sprinkle everything in salsa. If you can get a Mexican one, the better, and this recipe can be repeated over and over until your fridge is empty. This is the mark of an excellent munchie snack: easy to prepare, fulfilling like nothing else, and repeatable all night, no matter the levels of weed in your body.

However, if you have a toaster oven (or you even feel like using your regular oven), then please do that; it will keep the tortilla chips crunchy and satisfying. Oh, and if you have a can of black beans around, you can add it too; just make sure you cook it apart, as beans can get really stinky in a microwave. And you don’t want that smell lingering with the weed, believe us.

So there you have it, easy to make recipes that will save you in case you forgot to stock up on your favorite store-bought snacks. Also, feel free to experiment! Every pothead proud of it has a repertoire of improvised cuisine that is always ripe for improvement, substitutions, and general creativity.

What are your favorite snacks when you get the munchies? We hope you like these recipes, and please tell us your results if you ever get to make them!
